*SEE SOURCE FOR FULL DESCRIPTION* To conduct an invironmental impact assessment for its proposed tuna processing plant. A terms of reference has been prepared by the Vanuatu Environment Unit and can be provided on request. It is expected that approximately 30 days work will be required for the project, of which 15 will be allocated for field work. Please send

Criteria:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science or a similar discipline and considerable experience for Environmental impact assessments

- A good understanding of the legal basis for EIAs in different jurisdictions and experience of assessing the environmental and social impacts of commercial fishing and/or processing projects

- Experience of evaluating social, environmental and custom impacts of development projects in Vanuatu (desirable)

- Experience of working in Vanuatu and a good understanding of the environment legislation procedures of this country (desirable)

- Experience of evaluating the impact of commercial tuna fishing and processing projects in the pacific (desirable)

Salary:

The total cost will not exceed US$15,000 and bids in excess of this amount will not be considered
