The Government of Vanuatu is implementing the support to Non State Actors and Community based Organizations lll (NSA lll ) programme, funded by the European Union and is seeking to recruit for the following position for its Project Implementation Unit (PMU): A rural development expert. PMU staffs will be employed directly by the Government of Vanuatu represent by the National

Authorizing Officer.

Within the Project Management Unit, he/she will have the responsibility for organizing and supervising project implementation in the field, and be pro-active to allow access to information on funding availability for all potential beneficiaries.

He/she will work in close collaboration with all the project's stakeholders, including government's representative at provincial level.

He/she will contribute to the draft operational reports as requested by the Supervisors and by the EDF Guidelines on the Management of Programme Estimates.

Regular field visits throughout Vanuatu will be required.

candidate must have proven experience at management level donor's funded projects, preferable EU projects.

- Experience in coordinaton of management role NSAs, government, community development initiative in the field is needed. Exposure to Gender issues is an advantage.

- Proficient in English and French will be asset as well as ability to produce reports and documents efficently and accurately, in both English an French.

- Must be proficient in spoken Bislama.

- An in-depth Knowledge of Vanuatu context and current status of communities as well as civil society landscape throughout the country is required.
