The Vanuatu Christian Council (VCC) is the peak body of the Christian churches in Vanuatu. It serves its member churches and their congregation by providing a forum for discussion, sharing and planning on matters of mutual concern. Recently the VCC has started implementing AusAID funded projects in the areas of community-focused integrated disaster risk

reduction and Vanuatu church partnerships program, focusing on strengthening management and member services and national policy engagement. The VCC seeks the services of a full-time qualified person for a newly created position of training and development manager, reporting to the VCC general secretary. 1) Develop/adapt learning and empowerment strategies for staff, executive, members and committees of VCC

2) Oversee and manage program staff

3) Develop proposals for funding with program staff

4) Ensure timely reporting on projects and for management and executive meetings

5) Research information on justice, governance, spiritual and socio-economics and political issues

6) Conduct or facilitate training for staff, executive, member churches and committees of VCC

7) Facilitate means to promote information on sound theological basis for community development in Vanuatu

8) Devise or facilitate mechanisms to utilize the existing knowledge, skills and practices from churches and Para-church groups from VCC learning consultations

9) Develop strategies to involve VCC members in joint overseas mission to contribute to learning.
