Job Desctiption:

We are currently advertising the position for a Clerk of Works Officer to join the Fund.

Reporting to the Team Leader Properties, the position will ensure all fund properties are in compliance with internal policies, relevant contracts and agreements and all legal and regulatory requirements in accordance with the VNPF act and other internal and external regulatory governance requirements.
Key outcomes:
• Assist in overall inspections on construction, operations, and maintenance activities
• Reporting all checks carried out.
• Assist Team Leader Property and Civil Engineer to ensure that all inspections and checks on construction, operation and maintenance activities are done in compliance with internal policies, Investment Frame Work and VNPF Act.

Able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device.

Job Desctiption:

Key Tasks - Technical
• Be the lead engineer on medium to large projects, manage jobs and financial performance and the team.
• Structural engineering design and documentation including preparation of structural design briefs.
• Understand and solve complex structural engineering problems by applying first principles.
• Undertake structural analysis modelling that accurately reflects the physical conditions.
• Prepare structural calculation packages that are largely error free.
• Co-ordinating and supervision of design and technical staff.
• General structural engineering including construction monitoring, site inspections, investigation, measuring and preparation inspection and insurance reports on structural damage.
• Preparation of construction tender documents, fee proposals and tenders for work.
• Seismic assessments and strengthening proposals for buildings.
• Review and consolidate existing CPM systems, specifications, software, and design standards.

 

Selection Criteria:

Candidates Requirements:
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Personal Attributes:
• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) Degree.
• Chartered Professional (CPEng).
• Minimum of 6 years professional experience in structural engineering Vanuatu or Pacific preferred.
• Experience in design with steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage timeframe to ensure client deadlines are met, while delivering within key targets.

 

Salary:

Range Vt 200,000 to 450,000 / month
