Criteria:
We are looking for a WASH
Officer with Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Skills Background to join our
team based in Tanna, Tafea Province with travel to Outer Islands. 
The WASH Officer (Gender Equity and Social Inclusion) is
responsible for the ensuring that gender equity and social inclusion (GESI) is
mainstreamed across all CARE International in Vanuatu WASH programming. This
will entail providing training to CARE staff, government, and communities on
GESI, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), and protection;
piloting a menstrual health management program for school girls on Tanna
Island; and mainstreaming GESI to ensure that CARE’s WASH programming is responsive
to and inclusive of women and girls, young people, older people, and people
with disabilities. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about
promoting social inclusion and gender equity issues and will have experience
with community mobilization. (S)he will have the skills to engage women and
girls, young people, older people, and people with disabilities in discussions
around WASH issues. The role involves working in a team and coordinating with
government, community, and other WASH implementing organizations in Tafea
Province. 
 
Required qualification and skills
 
Good
qualification with relevant skillsKnowledge
of one or more of the following: public health, health, gender, human rights,
community development, education, or rural developmentAt
least two years of practical experience in gender mainstreaming, community
development, health, WASH, or similar programmesWritten
and oral fluency in English, Bislama, and Tanna local languages requiredDemonstrated
awareness and sensitivity to the particular needs of women and other
marginalized groups in WASHDemonstrated
ability to take direction and to work as part of a teamAbility
to work well under pressure and in response to changing needsStrong
communication skills and ability to deliver clear messages to large groupsAbility
to work independently and efficientlyProficiency
in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook, or the ability to learn
quicklyWillingness
to be based in Tanna and travel to the outer islands.
