Job Description:
The Australia-Vanuatu Governance for Growth Program is seeking an expression of interest from appropriately experienced and qualified individuals for the position of Public Financial & Economic Management Adviser. The position will support the implementation of the Australian Aid program objectives in supporting Government of Vanuatu's PFEM priorities. The Governance of Growth program is seeking applications from Vanuatu residents to occupy this position.

The Role:
The role of Public Financial & Economic Management Adviser is to link, support and contribute to achieving effective engagement with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Management (FMEM), Finance Department of key line agencies and other relevant authorities in development and fiscal management and economic growth.


Criteria:
  • Successful candidates will be expected to have tertiary qualifications in economics or Public Financial management related fields
  • Over 10 years PFM  and/or economic policy related experience at a senior level with public sector, multilateral, bilateral development agencies. Experience in one or more types of these organizations would be an advantage
  • Ability to communicate PFM related issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, strategic approach to PFM coupled with an ability and willingness to work with colleagues whom will have less technical knowledge of the subject matter
  • A capacity and willingness to take initiative and use sound judgement to progress objectives
  • Demonstrated capacity to achieve outcomes in developing countries and cross cultural environments
  • Bislama and English language skills, including strong English written skills
