• At least 10 years of full-time mechanical work experience repairing heavy- duty trucks and /or construction equipment that demonstrates the ability to perform the primary duties of the Job
• Vocational certificate in repair of heavy automotive or diesel equipment, or journey level status;
• Skill in dealing tactfully and courteously with co-workers and customers;
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of diesel engines and gas engines in small trucks and cars. Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain drive train components, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, hydraulic and air brakes, suspension systems and a variety of clutches on trucks and related equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain hydraulic systems, undercarriages, tracks, sprockets, cutting edges, rollers, cooling systems, and all power train components on heavy construction equipment. Troubleshoot diagnose, repair and maintain Caterpillar electronics and use a computerised scan program.
Selection Criteria:
