The Child Protection Policy Advisor will assist the Government in the development of policy for children which will be delivered in two Phases being; 1. Phase 1: Development of the National Child Protection Policy supported by an Implementation Strategy including a Monitoring and Evaluation framework and 2. Phase 2: Development of the National Children’s Policy supported by an Implementation Strategy including a Monitoring and Evaluation framework. The successful candidate will be engaged on a short term contract for a period 32 working days for Phase I with a possible extension of a further 38 working f for Phase 2, dependent on the successful completion of the first phase.  Criteria: Essential skills highly required include Knowledgeable on children’s rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and issues relating to children currently addressed in the statutory framework Proven work experience (3-5 years) in an area related to children and public policy development in the context of Vanuatu Appropriate tertiary qualifications in either law, social and gender analysis or development work Competency and fluency in the English language. French and Bislama language an advantage and highly desirable Experience in report writing and analysis of data  Excellent organizational and participatory facilitation skills.
