Job Desctiption:
Key responsibilities:
Complete pre start inspections on vehicle
Carry out routine inspections and maintenance of vehicle and equipment
Keep vehicle clean and fuelled
Safely operate heavy trucks to transport equipment, materials and machinery
Assist with picking/packing orders where required
Ensure all loads are loaded, secured correctly and checked
Ensure loads are checked off before departure
Ensure all loads are accurately stowed on vehicle to allow sage and efficient unloads
Perform rigging duties, including attaching loads to cranes or other lifting devices using chains, slings or ropes
Inspect vehicles and rigging gear for safety and compliance before use
Assist crane operators and crew in lifting, positioning and securing loads
Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations and branch drivers rules
Utilize the assigned routes to and from locations
Keep up to date on the best routes to travel between branch and delivery locations
General duties:
Record all customer order delivery status accurately and on time (tbc)
Complete all required reports and documentation
Report all vehicle related accidents, injuries or vehicle damage to your supervisor immediately
Help out the branches with other tasks as necessary (such as housekeeping, stocking and processing dispatch
Stay up to date with correct health and safety procedures
Report any site or general hazards or accidents to your supervisor immediately
Look after any company property you use and report any damage to your supervisor
Duties to this role may change over time and you may be required to perform alternate tasks as required
Selection Criteria:
Qualifications:
Relevant class of drivers license (Valid commercial drivers license CDL)
A clean driving record
Understanding of local geographical constraints
Knowledge of Vanuatu transportation regulations
Certification or experience as a rigger (level 1 or higher preferred)
