The Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) is the
national governing body for the game of cricket in Vanuatu and one of the
country’s leading sporting
organisations. The association is now welcoming applications for
the position of Development Supervisor based in the nation’s capital, Port
Vila. 
 
The Development Supervisor oversees Vanuatu’s award
winning cricket development program by working with the VCA development team to
promote and manage cricket so that the cricket infrastructure (schools, clubs,
development officers, cricket ambassadors, coaches, volunteers, administrators,
local and national government bodies) is of the highest quality with the
cricket experience being positive for all participants and cricket in Vanuatu
prospers with sustainable participation growth. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities 
 
Reports to the General ManagerWorks with the General Manager, High Performance Manager, Administration
Officer, Development Officers, Competitions Officer and other relevant Vanuatu
Cricket staff to plan the development activities of Vanuatu Cricket for the new
yearWrite and regularly check the schedule for all development activities
and make sure there are no clashes between the development activities and other
Vanuatu Cricket activitiesRoster all Development Officers to running all scheduled development
activitiesMake sure that all Development Officers are working
as written in their job descriptionsEnsure all Development Officers provide
written planned activities prior to an eventWork with the Administration Officer to
ensure that all contacts at all schools and communities are aware of
development activities that shall be held. This includes telling schools and communities
when development activities have been cancelled or postponedWork with the Administration officer to ensure that
transport and equipment are organised for all scheduled development activitiesOversee the planning, operation and review of all
development activities as requiredWork with the Media Officer to write regular press
releases about Vanuatu Cricket’s development activitiesConduct
a weekly development staff meetingOrganise and facilitate all school competitionsWork with the Competitions Officer to enter all
scorecards into CricHQ after the completion of each round matchEnsure that grounds are marked, stumps/bails,
scorebooks, stationery, scoreboards and balls are organised prior to
competitionLiaise
with CUAV, the Competitions and CUS Officer and other development staff to
ensure that there are umpires and scorers rostered on for each match of
competitionsEnsure
that the Vanuatu CricHQ website is regularly updated and liase with CricHQ on
behalf of the Vanuatu Cricket AssociationAssist schools with team trainings prior to
competitionsCarry
out promotion activities with/for Vanuatu Cricket sponsorsPrepare and submit monthly reports to the General Manager. 
Criteria: 
 
Be committed to working with and helping
children, women, the disabled and all other new cricket participantsHave a basic understanding of the game
of cricketBe willing to work towards becoming a
Level 1 and then Level 2 cricket coachHave good management skillsBe able to write schedules that do not
clash with other activitiesBe able to roster Vanuatu Cricket
Development staff to tasksBe able to communicate rosters and
schedules to everyone involvedHave knowledge and understanding of
basic computer skillsBe prepared to talk with other Vanuatu
Cricket staff about new ideas and what Vanuatu Cricket is doingExcellent spoken and written
EnglishExcellent writing skillsBe prepared to be a role model for all
cricket players and Vanuatu Cricket Rostered Development OfficersAbility
to uphold the Spirit of CricketAbility
to uphold the ICC and VCA Code of ConductAbility
to adhere to the Anti-Racism, Anti-Doping, Anti-Corruption and Child Protection
Policies of the VCA and ICC.
