| | Job Description: |
| | The Judicary of Vanuatu seeks to recruit one (1) suitably qualified persons for the position of Judge of the Supreme Court. The Judge of the Supreme Court will: |
| | |
| | - Hear and dispose of all cases as assigned; |
| | - Travel on Supreme Court circuits to all parts of the country as assigned; |
| | - Assist the Chief Justice with juducal education; and |
| | - Assist with any other request made by the Chief Justice; |
| | |
| | A full detail of the entitlements can be obtained from the Registrar of the Supreme Court. All appropriately qualified Ni-Vanuatu are encouraged to apply. Only short-listed candidates will be required to produce a medical certificate. |

| | Essential Selectiobn Criteria; |
| | Criteria: |
| | - Possess a Degree in Law from a recognisied university; |
| | - Be admitted to practie law in Vanuatu, a Commonwealth or other jurisdiction and have practiced for at least 7 years; |
| | - Meet all requirements under the Constitution, the Judical Services & Courts Act, and the Legal Practitioners' Act; |
| | - Be fluent in either English or French language, with working knowledge of the other; |
| | - Possess demonstrable ability for case management; |
| | - An outstanding and reputable member of his/her community. |
| | - Strong communication skills, both written and oral. |
| | - Computer literacy. |
| | - Experience of conducting judical education courses; |
| | - Knowledge of experience of automated Court Management Systems; |
| | - Knowledge or experience of court recording and transcription; |
| | - Be able and willing to work under time pressure and meet deadlines. |

| | Remuneration is as provided for in the Judical Services & Courts Act and the Government Remuneration Tribunal determination of 2006. |
