We are looking for a Women’s Economic
Livelihoods [WEL] Coordinator to coordinate CARE Vanuatu’s Women’s Economic
Livelihood’s [WEL] work in Tafea Province. As part of
CARE Vanuatu’s Gender Equality Program, CARE has the support of the Australian
Aid Program to implement a four year project, Leftemap Sista II with the goal: ‘To support women, young women and
girls with and without disabilities in rural and remote areas of TAFEA to
realise their rights to live free from violence, have increased economic
opportunity and capacity to participate meaningfully in decisions that affect
their lives in peace time and disaster’. The WEL Coordinator will be
responsible for coordinating activities to work with Women’s Economic
Livelihoods groups to increase their food and economic security and safe access
to and control over economic resources and decision making at household level. 
The Position is based in Tanna with significant
travel required to other sites in Tafea. 
Your major responsibilities will be varied and will include: 
 
 
Working with the CARE Vanuatu Gender Equality Team,
to support the development and implementation of CARE Vanuatu’s Equality
ProgramActively contribute to CARE Vanuatu’s long term
strategy ensuring a strong focus on gender equality as a member of the Program
Leadership TeamCoordinate implementation of the WEL components of
CARE Vanuatu’s Gender Equality program including Family Financial Management
Training, links to technical support and extension services to WEL groups, and
links to markets and existing financial servicesEnsure the WEL component of the program delivers
high quality results and outcomes established in the program design documentParticipate in the development of the Monitoring,
Evaluation, Accountability and Learning [MEAL] plan for CARE Vanuatu’s Gender
Equality Program lead on MEAL for Leadership activitiesTeam Management.

Criteria: 
Required qualifications and skills: 
 
 
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies,
Gender Studies, Rural Development, or equivalent and/or minimum 4-5 years relevant work experience,
preferably in community based development work and/or activity implementation
with an International Non-Government Organisation (INGO)Proven experience managing and implementing
economic empowerment programs targeting womenProven experience in training and facilitation
including at community levelGood understanding of women’s economic empowerment
and also EVAWG (including the importance of prevention and response)Excellent communication in Bislama and very good in
English, French would be an assetAbility to coordinate this technical function(s)
and implement procedures and processes, with minimal supervisionDemonstrated high level organisational and time
management skills, including the ability to plan and manage workflows and
balance competing priorities to ensure timely processing to meet deadlines in a
complex environmentAbility to develop high quality, concise reports
and submission with accuracyDemonstrated strong leadership, decision making,
problem solving, planning, analytical and influencing skillsExcellent Interpersonal skills and ability to work
well in a teamDemonstrated experience in effectively leading,
people management and motivating a teamDemonstrated honesty, maintaining confidentiality,
reliable and trustworthyRepresentational skills including developing
networks and relationships with key 
stakeholdersProven ability to work safely and effectively with
communities and vulnerable groups including at risk youth and childrenProven ability in
