| | Church networks represented by the vanuatu christian council together with the national disaster management organization (NDMO) is implementing a disaster preparedness project in vanuatu and wishes to employ a project manager to run the project. We are looking for a committed and knowledgeable person in the field of disaster management to manage our |
| | national program in community-base disaster risk reduction. This is a unique opportunity to work at a national level, in the area of disaster risk reduction and disaster management. Duties and responsibilities: |
| | 1) Organise and co-ordinate all aspects of the program while working in collaboration with faith base organization and the NDMO |
| | 2) The Project Manager will answer to a Steering Committee, established to run the project. |
| | Interested applicant must have the following: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - Proven disaster management experience; Proven managerial capabilities; Proven reporting skills; Training qualifications and skills; Advance written english skills; Computer literate; A team player; Treasury |
| | Qualification to suit the above position (including courses in disaster / emergency management) |
| | - Ability to converse in both english and bislama; Willingness to travel between provinces in vanuatu; Good communication skills at all levels including village level and executive management level |
