      UNICEF Pacific office is seeking to engage a consultant to strengthened national capacity to deliver quality and timely New-born, maternal and Nutrition interventions at health facility and community levels in Vanuatu. Support to the United Nations Joint Program for Reproductive, Maternal, New-born and child, and Adolescent Health in Vanuatu. 
      Responsibilities

      • Help develop and build financial management and reporting capacity of development funds and recurrent funds for the central and Provincial Health Authorities
      • Co-authorize all payments made with the UN Joint Program's Joint Trust Fund processed through Government of Vanuatu (GoV) systems
      • Act as a member of the Audit and Finance Committee (AFC) if requested to do so by MoH
      • Support the system to monitor and track expenditure against development and recurrent funds
      • Maintain and update an electronic filing system for all UN Joint Program on RMNCAH records over the period of assignment, inclusive of agreements, contracts, procurement analysis, payment details, imprests, and any other supporting documentation
      • Participate in the MoH Finance Team Meetings to discuss and analyze MoH monthly financial reports
      • Assist Cost Centre Managers in developing cost based budgets based on the UN Joint Program's Joint trust funds allocated to MOH using the MOH templates
      • Provide personnel, goods and services (physical and consulting) contracting advice to the Ministry of Health relating to the implementation of the RMNCAH programme
      • Maintain an Imprest Register on all UN Joint Program on RMNCAH accountable imprests with respect to funding use from the annual workplan, including review and verification of imprest acquittals and follow-up on overdue impress retirements
      • In collaboration with MoH Finance Manager and VHRM Procurement Manager, monitor all risk events, report on occurrences and advise on update mitigation techniques to reduce impacts.

      The Vanuatu Society for People with Disabilities (VSDP) is looking for an early childhood or primary school teacher to help us improve the outcomes for clients in our Early Intervention program.

      The Early Intervention (EI) program helps children with disabilities and their parents/carers. The classes include activities to promote communication, movement, social and practical life skill development. The recently expanded program runs from Monday to Thursday, at four different community centres around Port Vila.

      Many children who attend EI classes will transition to school. Therefore, we are looking to enhance the EI class structure and content to include school readiness skills, while ensuring our program continues to focus on client goals and developing communication, movement, social and practical life skills. With support of a project officer and EI team, the successful applicant will review our current program so it aligns with national early childhood education policies and other national documents on education. Contract length is 12 months.
      Responsibilities
      • Assess current Early Intervention class structure and content against current national education policies and documents 
      • Suggest changes to EI class structure to include school readiness skills
      • Develop a guide/scheme of work describing the new EI class structure and content
      • Make changes by training EI staff on using the developed guide and on planning lessons 
      • Work with VSDP staff, clients and their families, and community members to help clients get better outcomes
      • Follow VSDP policies and procedures including the code of conduct and child protection policy
      • Attend, participate and contribute to staff meetings.
