Organisation Description:
The overall goal of Vanuatu Aquatics Federation (VAF) is to provide the opportunity for members to develop the life skill of swimming in an open and supportive environment. The grassroots program focus on developing learn to swim programs on the island of Efate and its offshore islands. Our goals are to:
● Encourage children and young people to participate in swimming programs that incorporate safety and life skills development
● Support village swim instructors and school teachers in developing their own learn to swim programs and club competitions
● Provide training courses to increase local knowledge of swim instruction, water safety and surf life saving
● Engage provincial education and sports development officers, VASANOC, and other stakeholders in the implementation of programs.
Job Desctiption:
We are hiring a Senior Finance & Admin officer to join our team:
• Conduct daily cash reconciliations from staff cash acquittals.
• Conduct bank deposit preparations.
• Provide weekly bank reconciliations of account.
• Organize weekly banking.
• Prepare salaries and VNPF payments
• Prepare any other business licenses, lease or contracts as necessary (with respect of VAT and VNPF policies)
• Manage agreements with lessors
• Conduct daily financial data entrance in MYOB.
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable and cost accounting.
• Conduct monthly financial planning with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and outreach teams and seeking endorsement from Executive .
• Produce reports for VAF Executive and SLT on latest expenditures, burn rate on grants, cash flow projections
• Manage the maintenance of the general ledgers.
• Liaise with third parties in relation to contract payments and other finance related issues, resolving issues as they arise
• Adhere to financial policies and procedures, and induct others into it
Selection Criteria:
Experience & Qualification required:
• Qualifications in accounting, financial administration, business administration or related
• Experience in managing payroll and program financial administration
• Strong computer skills especially in MS Excel & MYOB.
• Working experience with MYOB including the use of Jobs.
• Experience with Budget management and Profit & Loss.
• Strong experience in accounting data entry including invoice entry, bank entries, sales entries.
• Experience with payroll and VNPF.
• Accuracy with numbers.
• Ability to provide reliable reconciliation.
• Strong organization and record keeping skills.
• Able to work well in a team as well as independently as we are a small team.
• Ability to be flexible and take on new responsibilities or tasks (can do attitude).
• 3+ years demonstrated and proven experience in accounting related roles preferably for another development organization
• 3+ years demonstrated experience in accounting software programs
• Fluent in English (Vanuatu citizen only).
• Certificate in business and/or accounting
• Police clearance (will be organised for preferred candidates)
• Ability to provide 2 references (reference check will be organised by VAF for preferred candidates)
