Organisation Description:
Our client, a major resort in Port Vila, is seeking a General Manager to ensure the smooth running of the resort, responsible in achieving efficient and effective resort operations and delivery of superior customer service and quality outcomes; maximising profitability and enhancing the guest experience through effective management strategies and initiatives.
Job Desctiption:
Main Duties & Responsibilities 
  •	To ensure the management team perform effectively throughout the resort;
  •	Manage the operational performance of the resort through meeting and  exceeding set budgetary requirements;
  •	Proactively seek sales and marketing opportunities, ensuring a focus on  continuous business development;
  •	Provide weekly management report on sales, operations and finances to the  owners;
  •	Manage performance of employees through consistent and effective  communication and provide regular feedback;
  •	Regularly monitor and report upon the resort's financial performance  against the operational budget to achieve annual set targets;
  •	Maximise room yield and resort revenue through strategic sale practices and  yield management;
  •	Be responsible for the coordination of recruitment, induction, training, and  personal development of all staff across all departments;
  •	Implement the resort improvement plan to ensure the 5 star resort stays the  5 star resort;
  •	Monitor staff conduct and performance standards, work health and safety and  ensure service expectations are maintained across all departments;
  •	Conduct regular and systematic meetings with Department Heads and staff to  ensure open communication lines are maintained; 
  •	Ensure all staff are extensively trained and perform their roles in a  professional manner in line with company standards; 
  •	Complete management reporting requirements to company standard at set  schedule;
  •	Ensure all staff members are adequately informed and trained on new and  existing resort policies and procedures;
  •	Communicate regularly with other Resort Managers to keep lines of  communication open and to discuss information' 
  •	Ensure resort is compliant with all company guidelines, local laws  including, fire regulations and essential services;
  •	Ensure team members are trained and able to manage resort security by  ensuring a safe environment for guests and employees; 
  •	Continuously review resort policies and procedures ensuring all staff are  aware of and comply with set requirements; 
  •	Lead by example and conduct yourself in a professional manner that reflects  the company in a positive way; and
  •	Any other duties as may reasonably be requested or required including other  duties as the position evolves.
  
Selection Criteria:
Skills  
  •	Must understand and speak English fluently; 
  •	Ability to supervise, lead and manage over 200 employees;
  •	Ability to handle guest requirements including complaints; 
  •	A solid sales background gained within the hospitality industry is  essential; 
  •	Knowledge of the exhibitions/conference conventions market is highly  desirable as is previous experience of an opening; 
  •	Excellent communication and delegations skills; 
  •	A high level of financial awareness and achievements; and
  •	Ability to calculate/analyse data.
