|  | Key purpose of the position: The overall purpose of Save the Children Vanuatu Strengthening Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health Program (STARS Health Program) is to promote the sexual and reproductive health and well-being of young people through a model of community engagement, sexual and reproductive health service delivery, education and sustainable development | 
|  | opportunities for young people, aged 10 - 27 years, on the islands of Efate, Ambae, Malekula, Santo and Vanualava. | 
|  |  | 
|  | We are currently seeking suitable candidates for the position of Community Engagement Officer to be based in Efate, Ambae and Malekula. |

|  | Duties and responsibilities: | 
|  | 1) Lead consultative SRH awareness presentations to communities and engage with young people to discuss and promote SRH issues, gender equity in relationships and life skills | 
|  | 2) Promote the youth friendly space (YFS) and generate increased demand for, and use of youth-friendly reproductive health services | 
|  | 3) Contribute to delivery of awareness programs and activities in the YFS | 
|  | 4) Contribute to increased demand of condoms and support community-based distributors and other peer educators. | 
|  |  | 
|  | Selection Criteria: | 
|  | Criteria: | 
|  | - Displays well developed verbal and written communications skills in both Bislama and English and is able to clearly communicate sensitive topics such as HIV and family planning | 
|  | - Demonstrates the ability to plan and organize self and others to ensure the timely completion of tasks while working to deadlines; Demonstrates the ability to coordinates and support groups of youth | 
|  | - Demonstrates the ability to encourage and educate young people; Willing and able to travel to and work in remote communities | 
|  | - Demonstrates knowledge and practical skills in community development interventions, including previous experience of liaising with a range of people-including community leaders; Knowledge of HIV&AIDS prevention | 
|  | and reproductive health | 
|  | - Knowledge of community health promotion; Completed high school level of 12 an advantage. |
