| | On Behalf of our client, The Christensen Fund, we are seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Program Officer for Melanesia to be based here in Port Vila. |
| | Position requirements are: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - A graduate degree in an environmental or social sicence field, along with knowledge of bio-cultural, diversity, stewardship, landscape, resilience, and indigenous peoples; Superior written and oral |
| | communication skills in English, an ability to work in Tok Pisin and/or other relevant lingua fancas like bahas or Motu |
| | - Experience in budgeting and financial statement analysis; Well-organized, self-sufficient, and IT-savvy (e.g. Microsoft office suite and web-based applications inlcuding grantmaking systems) |
| | - Ability to travel as required by the job description; Demonstrated ability to take on multiple roles and effectively manage complex, envolving work environments; Able to manage multiple projects and |
| | resources simultaneoulsy, interally and externally, as well as personally |
| | - Able to manage time and work under pressure; Demonstrated commitment to the visions and struggles of local communities in Melanesia to maintain their cultural integrity and environmental |
| | - Prior employment in an international grandmaking foundation and an understanding of best practices associated with US private foundations highly preferred. |
