| | The judicial service commission is advertising the position of public prosecutor for the republic of vanuatu. Duties and responsibilities: |
| | 1)To institute, prepare and conduct preliminary enquiries |
| | 2)To institute, prepare and conduct on behalf of the State, prosecutions for offences in any court |
| | 3)To institute, prepare and conduct, on behalf of the State appeals on any court in respect of prosecution |
| | 4)To conduct, on behalf of the State as respondent, any appeal in any court in respect of prosecution |
| | 5)If requested by the Attorney-General to do so, to institute, prepare and conduct on behalf of the State, or be a party to, proceedings under legislation dealings with proceeds of crime, mutual assistance or extradition |
| | 6)To discontinue prosecutions regardless of who instituted them. |
| | Interested applicant must have the following requirements: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - A law degree; Is admitted to practice s a legal practitioner in vanuatu and has been so admitted for at least 7 years; Has been admitted to practice as a legal practitioner in vanuatu or any other country for at |
| | least 7 years; Formal qualification or experience in Administration and case management; Considerations of justice and fairness; The need to conduct prosecutions in an effective, economic and efficient |
| | manner; The need to ensure that the prosecutorial system gives appropriate consideration to the concerns of the victims of crime. |
