| | The Vanuatu Department of Agriculture and Rural Development & the Secretariat of the Pacific Community invites applications for a Food Security Coordinator to be based in Port Vila, Vanuatu. This position will be responsible for the planning and coordination of the SPC/USAID project on " Vegetation and land cover mapping and improving food security for building resilience to |
| | achanging climate in Pacific island communities" in Vanuatu. |
| | Working closely with the Vanuatu Department of Agriculture and Rural Development(DARD), the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) and other partners. |

| | Candidates will be assessed against these: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - Function as national counterpart for the SPC/USAID project. |
| | - Provide administrative assistance in general programme implementation and management and day-to-day liaison with counterparts and provide necessary feedback and reporting to DARD and SPC/USAID Suva-based |
| | project team. |
| | - Provide and facilitate relevant technical support in the implementation of the SPC/USAID project, DARD's work programmes and plans of operation in Vanuatu. |
| | - Support DARD and SPC in timely monitoring and reporting on the progressof food security and climate change programmes and activities specified in the national plan of operation and subsequent reporting. |
| | -Facilitate and/or conduct training needs of stakeholders on different food security, climate change and livelihood interventions. |
| | - Ensure alignment of activity implementation to be approved project workplan and budget |
| | - Coordinate collaborations between relevant in country stakeholders and other partners |
| | - Travel to the SPC/USAID project sites (Ureparara, Sola any upscale sites) to provide technical back up support and conduct monitoring and evaluation of activity implementation. |
| | - Facilitate relevant logistics and services. |
| | - Ensure compliance with local legislative procedures. |
| | - A diploma or undergraduate degree in agriculture, livestock or related field, an advanced degree in enviromental science, physical geography, climate change or related field would be advantaged. |
| | - A minimum of 5 years experience performing functions outlined above, experience in working in the field or with communities and diverse team, demonstrated experience in project management and working with and |
| | reporting to regional organizations or donor agencies, demonstrated good communications skills (Micro Soft word, Excel, Power point), demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and |
| | communicate effectively to a varied audience. |

| | Salary range is level MS 6.2 -MS 6.7 (2,187,360 - 2,363,760 VT) |
