| | Iririki island resort & spa and the grand hotel and casino vanuatu are seeking to appoint a chief engineer. Applicants with previous experience in a similar role within the tourism industry in vanuatu are encouraged to apply. Duties and responsibilities: |
| | 1) Direct and manage the maintenance function providing ‘hands on’ technical expertise for day-to-day operation and leadership support to the maintenance team |
| | 2) Responsible for the maintenance, repair and upkeep of the hotel/resort and all equipment in accordance with organisational brand service standard. |

| | - In consultation with the group general manager, design and develop the engineering maintenance department budget; Monitor department budget, overseeing the general cost control aspects of |
| | maintenance (including cost of materials, equipment and labour); Design and implement a preventative maintenance program for approval by GM; Perform document regular inspections of plant, pool |
| | equipment, garden and rooms in accordance with established timeframes and to ensure maintenance of organisational quality standards |
| | - Carry out regular quality checks on maintenance work, supplies of materials and equipment and make suggestions for improvement to maintenance systems and to minimise completion time of works; Assign |
| | and delegate tasks, following up to ensure task has been completed to a high standard; Aim to rectify as many break downs in-house as possible to reduce costs and reliance on external contractors |
| | - Establish and maintain contact with appropriate contractors, making recommendations to GM on the use of key suppliers and contractors; Supervise contractors and provision of services on site ensuring a |
| | high standard of all work completed; Ensure compliance with occupational health & safety guidelines policy & procedures are carried out at all times. |
