Purpose of the Society
Founded in 1982, VRCS is a major stakeholder in the humanitarian system. The Society is recognized by the Government as auxiliary to the public authorities in the humanitarian field in accordance with the provisions of the First Geneva Convention. The organization is also one member of the National Disaster Committee.
VRCS has identified Disaster Management and Disaster Preparedness as one of its main areas of intervention with a particular focus on community based disaster preparedness. It also implements a Health Program, whose main components are First Aid and Hygiene Promotion. The organization also encourages Youth participation and promotes the International Humanitarian Law.
VRCS has branches in 6 different provinces and numerous sub-branches. It can also rely on a solid network of trained volunteers all over the country. Around 25 staff members are currently working at HQ in Efate, while around 11 are working in the other islands.



Job Desctiption:
• The Casual Finance and Admin Officer is responsible for the financial management and reporting and in the Malampa Red Cross Branch. The Position works closely with the Branch Officer.
• All works will be responsible in line with the vision, mission, policies and strategic directions of the National Society and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
• The Casual Finance and Admin Officer reports to the Branch Officer


Selection Criteria:
• At least 2 years experiences in a similar financial role
• Proven commitment to accuracy
• Experience working in a development setting is desirable
• Experience in and committed to working as part of a team
• Strong computer skills (Word. Outlook.Excel).Including expertise in MYOB as an accounting and financial management tool as prepare relatively complex spreadsheets required.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Demonstrate written and oral communication skills, including fluency in English. French and Bishlamar and administration Organizational Skills
• Ability to dealt with multi-cultural and multi sectoral teams
• Ability to manage competing task, ability to prioratise and produce high level output consistently
• Commitment to accuracy in all financial processing.
• Commitment to the Red Cross Movement
• Commitment to occupational health and safety practices
