The Utilities Regulatory Authority (“the URA”) is seeking a Principal Economist in utility regulation The URA is seeking to engage an individual to a Consultant position of Principal Economist for a period of one (1) year with renewal subject to work requirement and performance Criteria: Successful candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: An advanced degree in economics, or finance/accounting or business At least 8 years work experience in applied economic analysis, financial modeling, and consulting and project management Knowledge of and some experience in economic regulation, preferably for utility services Proven track record in capacity building and training Proven track record of successful work as a member of a diverse team Excellent oral and written communication skills Fluency in written and spoken English is required, knowledge of French and/or Bislama an advantage and Experience in Vanuatu and/or other developing country contexts an advantage.
