Job Description:

The National Bank of Vanuatu is seeking to recruit a highly qualified and experienced banker to fill the position of Head of Risk. The position is located at the Bank's head office in Port Via, Vanuatu.

This is an executive role reporting directly to the Managing Director and the Board. It is responsible for the Bank's overall risk management control framework.

Risk management responsibilities for this position include managing the internal audit unit and coordinating both the external and internal audit functions.

The position is responsible for:

- Overseeing the bank's compliance program with direct responsibility for AML policies & procedures

- Advise on appropriate internal control and risk techniques. Implement programs and policies to minimize loss

- Coordinate development & implementation of risk management and internal controls for each level and function for the organisation to ensure that employees effectively identify and control risk

- Develop risk and compliance reporting in an apprioate way to enable the board Management Team. And other key staff to have visibility into the most significant risks and compliance exposures

- Systematically identify, analyse and classify all risks as to frenquency and potential severity, and mesure financial impact of risk on the company. Scope includes, but is not limited to: major financial (e.g. credit, market interest rate, liquidity, foreign exchange), operational, regulatory & compliance, reputational, legal, and technological risks.

The position also performs the role of company secretary.

The Person

The individual must have a very strong working knowledge of bank risk management protocols including liquidity risk, operational risk, and credit risk. He/She must have demonstrate experience in credit analysis and credit management, and high competency levels in financial analysis, problem solving and decision making. Solid ICT skills, especially in the use of data analysis tools, are

mandatory. A demonstratable track record of past success in a commercial banking senior management role is essential as this is a key strategic position within the banks corporate structure.

It is expected that the successful candidate will possess:

- At least 20 years experience in commercial banking field; Ten (10) years experience in credit/financial management
