The United States Peace Corps seeks a Medical Doctor to serve as a contracted Peace Corps Medical Officer (PCMO) based in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The PCMO will provide health care to U.S. Peace Corps Volunteers in Vanuatu and will work under the supervision of the Peace Corps Country Director in and the Peace Corps Office of Medical Services in

Washington DC.

3) Response to emergency medical situations

4) Member of Senior Peace Corps staff in Vanuatu

5) Design and presentation of health training sessions

6) Site visits to Peace Corps Volunteers throughout Vanuatu

7) Administrative tasks of the medical office including budget management

8) Inventory of medical supplies and equipment

9) Alternate 24 hours on-call duty with the other PCMO.

The National Advisory Board on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction (NAB) is Vanuatu’s principal policy making and advisory body for disaster risk reduction and climate change programs and activities. The NAB seeks highly motivated and dedicated people to join its newly established Project Management Unit based in the Vanuatu

Meteorology and Geo-Hazards department in Port Vila. This is an exciting opportunity to manage the delivery of a large-scale National Adaption and disaster Risk Reduction Project designed to address Vanuatu’s immediate climate change adaption needs and mitigate natural disaster risks. Contract is for one year, renewable up to three years.

Duties and responsibilities:

Will manage finances and ensure transparent, timely cost effective delivery of NAB-endorsed climate change and disaster risk reduction projects in accordance with Government and donor financial management requirements.
