Organisation Description:
Pierre Brunet Shipping Ltd is a company based in Port-Vila starting cargo shipping activities both locally and internationally in Oceania, as well as salvation and sea assistance missions in international waters.
Job Desctiption:
Follows the Technical Managers standing orders
In not part of the ships crew but can be deployed for specific allocated tasks
Assists in the execution of maintenance as required, Shore side or ship's side on any type of vessel in need
Involved duties shall occur ships port stay, alongside or dry docked.
Makes electrical and electronic inventories as required by the Technical Manager
Assists in Maintaining all area of the ship and shore machineries in a clean and safe condition when related to his/her duties.
Reports to the Technical Manager and non-conformities or hazardous occurrences observed in the course of his duties
Performs any additional duties as may be required by the Technical Manager
Work according to the schedule established by the Technical Manager and has a particular assignment of the maintenance of the following equipment:
Ships side
Propulsion and maneuvering machineries
Ship electrical management system
Electrical apparatus
Navigation and GMDSS Equipment
Power plants
Electronic systems
Electric machineries
A/C equipment's electrical system
Any requirement from Chief engineer followed by Technical Managers approval
Shore side
Workshop electrical management
Workship electrical and electronic devices
Shoreside machineries
Office electrical and lighting distribution
Selection Criteria:
Diploma or equivalent; technical certification in marine electrical systems
Minimum of 4 years of experience in marine electrical work.
Strong understanding of maritime safety regulations and standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary:
Negotiable, dependent on experience and demonstrable abilities
