| | CARE International in Vanuatu is looking for Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change Adaptation Field officers to work on community based projects in remote areas of the islands of Futuna, Maewo, Santo and Vanua Lava. Duties and responsibilities: |
| | 1) Ensure the effective and efficient implementation of DRR/ CCA activities according to the activity plan and allocated budget |
| | 2) Ensure CARE’s Programming Principles, in particular gender and rights-based approaches, are applied into project implementation activities |
| | 3) Ensure good mobilization and ownership of local partners, communities members, authorities and teachers according to activities planned |
| | 4) Provide all trainings on DRR concepts, Hazards, climate change, emergency preparedness, schools safety… as requested |
| | 5) Collect relevant data and information needed to ensure the proper application of the monitoring system |
| | 6) Strengthen relations with relevant Government authorities, other international organizations and non-government organizations working in the same geographic area |

| | Interested applicant must possess the following: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - Diploma in humanitarian program management, natural disaster risk sciences, environment, climate change adaptation, development, community based approach; Minimum five years of work |
| | experience as DRR/ CCA field officer, preferably for an international non government humanitarian organization (INGOs); Demonstrated experience in working with community members, local |
| | organization and local authorities |
| | - Demonstrated community mobilization and/or participatory techniques (PRA, VCA tools), training and facilitating skills; Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word and Powerpoint, outlook); |
| | Demonstrated good cash management/ basic accounting skill; Highly developed analytical and reporting skills |
| | - Fluent in written and spoken english and bislama, french language will be an asset; Open-minded, willing to learn, team spirit, humble; Ability to work in a team and in very remote areas |
| | - A Vanuatu national. |
